Super warm when cold and comfortable no matter what
I live SmartWool to sleep in when it’s cold. It makes it easier to get up and saunter through an ice cold house before work. I like this pair of SmartwoolLeggings because they are 100% Merino wool and the two-tone design is fun. Comfortable and stylish for being around the house.

I’d give them 10 stars if I could!
These long undies are AMAZING. I live in a very cold climate, and I’ve bought a lot of base layers over the years — silk, cotton, poly, tech fabrics — mostly because they were cheaper. Finally, this year, I decided to bite the bullet and try the expensive stuff (mostly due to the free returns option). These have turned out to be so worth it, and my husband is happy that in our current winter weather — in double digits below zero — I’m now willing to go outside, because I’m WARM! Even better, these feel like I’m wearing the snuggliest pajamas. I’m looking forward to more cold days just for the opportunity to wear them. Oh, and I’ve found that if I machine wash them on gentle and then hang them to dry overnight, I can wear them for multiple days in a row. I haven’t had any shrinkage of them yet, either. I’ll be watching for sales to try to get another set.

Dependable Smartwool Quality
Soft, quality Merino wool that’s worth the price. Wouldn’t recommend to wear alone as leggings, yet fabric is thick enough to provide true warmth. Really well made with a gusseted crotch and a wide waistband for comfort. At 5’8″ I appreciate the generous length. Size chart is accurate. I’m typically a medium but since I’ll be wearing these around the house and as pajamas rather than layering, I opted for an overall looser fit in a size large.

Great Base Layer, But Pulls in the Back
I love Smartwool products, and these bottoms are a great base layer. They will keep you warm without inhibiting your range of motion. They’re also really soft (unlike the Smartwool 150 which, IMHO, feels like cheap polyester and itches like crazy). My complaint is with the bootie. I have a curvy butt, and these pull way low in the back around my bottom. I’m 5’7, range from 165-180 pounds, and typically wear a 12/M in pants. I ordered a large in these and they still pulled down in the back. I don’t want to size up again for fear that the bottoms won’t be as snug as a base layer should be.I’m keeping these and will wear them, but I’ll also try to find a brand that’s a little more accommodating to big-bottomed women. But they do what they are supposed to do otherwise, so I’m happy enough.

Sooo soft and comfy!
Absolutely in love with these. Super soft and comfortable to wear under my hiking pants…but they are so comfy I just wear them around the house…so I ordered a 2nd pair.

Ample room for my larger figure, great cold-weather gear
These leggings are wonderful. They are really comfortable and roomy enough for my larger size. (I am 5’6-ish, and I wear XXL or 16-18 clothes.) I’m an hour-glass figure, so I worried that these leggings would be too small in the derriere, as many women’s cuts tend to be. But they went on easily, and they fit in that area without giving me a wedgy and without me having to constantly pull them up over my rump. They are not as bulky as I thought they would be – I can still fit in my jeans without them being too tight. And the fit is just right – it’s not like I’m forcing myself into them, so they are easy up/down for things like trips to the ladies room. These leggings kept me nice and warm in the 40-50-degree weather, with just jeans on top; and they added an extra dry layer in rainy weather, with my rain pants. They kept me toasty in the 20-40-degree weather when I had on ski pants.
