8 lb ball qualifies as “soft”
I hesitated to order this based on mixed reviews whether the balls were disappointedly “rock hard” or too “soft.” I took a chance and all I can say is that what I got was what I would call soft but easily grippable. It’s definitely softer than the Trademark Innovations toning ball but also larger. Overall, I am pleased with purchase.

Purchased this for my daughter for softball. Great for strength training and for conditioning. It has great grip and does not slip. Weight wasn’t too heavy but can always go up and down on the pounds.
