On a par with expensive scales on the market.
I’ve been on a weight loss program for a year, and lost of ton of weight. I credit using a very popular smart scale (renpho) that was basic but did a great job of basic measurements. But now as my focus has shifted from wanting weight loss to wanting muscle growth, it was time to buy the 8 electrode kind. The popular choices were Renpho or Hume. Both are in the $150+ range, and I wanted something cheaper. So I bought this. Priced at 1/3 of a Hume or Renpho, it’s a bargain but it’s mostly just formulas and not so much science or accuracy.

Frustration, for no reason
This is a well-made scale that looks great and you can tell it is of high quality. However, my experience has been a frustrated one, thus I was tempted to give it only one start. However, due to the high quality of the item, I couldn’t do this.Many issues that can be summarized as follow:The technology used in the ‘smart’ aspect of this scale is quite intrusive. Some people might not see this as an issue, but for me, from the get-go this was an issue. You MUST install an app, called Fitdays, which connects to your personal email. The personal information is kept on the cloud, including your body weight, body fat, etc. There’s an offline mode functionality, however, you MUST first register online and provide the initial personal data (I never even got to this point, read on…)I tried to register, but the application on my mobile (iPhone) didn’t even work after providing my email address. It prompted me for a password with two options: create a strong password (system generated) or choose my own password. I never passed this point after almost two weeks of trying. When I select to use my own password, the screen never advances to the next one to finish the registration. Same results if I opt for the system generated strong password. Complete deadlock.So, in short, no ‘smart’ at all with the app. Thus, the only available usage for me with this scale now is just to step on it and read the weight results. No smart functionality, no BMI, no analysis and historical information. Nothing. (again: if you want all of this information you have to be comfortable saving your personal historical data online).I also don’t like the fact that it uses 4 batteries. We are so used nowadays with usb charging, however, not a show stopper for me. it is just another basic design factor that I think they missed the mark on.I was hoping for a better review feedback and experience, but this is sharing my honest experience after trying with app for almost two weeks.
