I will stay on this forever
I started taking this about a year and a half ago- I’m now 4.5 months pregnant. I was pretty wary about prenatals for several reasons:(1) I thought most- like the ones my doctor gave me- required multiple dosages. I have a hard time remembering my keys let alone taking a vitamin more than once per day. Plus, there’s number 2…(2) Some multivitamins have made me nauseous or annoyed my stomach. I don’t have a weak stomach, but some have bothered me. I knew a prenatal packed so much stuff in it that this could be painful. In regards to multiple dosages, I figured taking more than one vitamin a day might be just as bad as a single vitamin jammed with everything I need.(3) There are so many choices out there that you can easily get lost. And the prices range from exceptionally cheap to ridiculously expensive and it’s hard to know what is really good. When I researched prenatals, I compared each against the recommended allowances for each supplement. Most of the ones that you took once per day did not give you enough of one item or another. Most of the vitamins that sufficed required multiple dosages and, as I mentioned, that wasn’t for me.And then I ran into Rainbow Light on a pregnancy website and noticed it had high reviews- and a lot of them- from all over the web. I liked that it was vegetable-based (I’m not a vegetarian, but I figured this might be easier on the stomach) and an all-in-one pill. It met every requirement for a prenatal except for calcium. I wound up buying this and the Rainbow Light calcium supplement and I’ve been hooked ever since. From day one I felt no nausea, no upset stomach, nothing- not even taking both pills together. Yes, they’re large, but I don’t have a problem with that, so I can’t say much about that except it seems many prenatals are huge.As with most vitamins I’ve taken, I either notice a gradual change or nothing at all. With this one, I noticed my nails and hair growing stronger and faster (before I was pregnant). I haven’t been sick a day since I started on them, though that could be coincidence. But I do feel great and had no problems taking these even during the first trimester. I did wind up having to take a Vitamin D supplement after I started seeing my OB because it seems the recommendations are changing. This vitamin gives you 400IU, the normal, recommended amount for pregnant/nursing women, but my doctor wants me to take 2000IU.On top of all of this, this vitamin is reasonably priced. I’ve paid anywhere from $19 to $25 for 150 count. For the price, convenience, and quality, I don’t know how this could be beat.I just bought the men’s multivitamin for my husband, so we’ll see what he thinks of that one.

Side by side comparison between Rainbow Light and IntraNaturals prenatal vitamins
I am not a nutrition expert by any means but I have been taking a prenatal vitamin for about four years between ttc, being pregnant, nursing, ttc again, and now in my second pregnancy so I have done a lot of research on them. My top two prenatal vitamins have been Rainbow Light and IntraNaturals so here is a side by side comparison of the two. Both have very similar vitamin and mineral amounts (many are the exact same amounts). IntraNaturals has more Vit D which I am always low on, while Rainbow Light has more iron. Some pregnant women have trouble with their iron levels getting low but mine are always good so extra iron just binds me up (probably a little too much info but worth noting). A couple other vitamins have slightly different amounts but those were the two that affect me the most during pregnancy. Both brands have a probiotic blend added which is a must and I even use another separate probiotic because pregnancy takes a toll on your digestive and immune system (your gut health has a large impact on your immune system!). IntraNaturals has ten probiotic strains listed and Rainbow Light only has one but I am not sure which has a higher cfu count as only Rainbow Light has listed theirs (25,000,000CFU). Generally I would say it is better to have a variety or probiotics though I wish I knew how many were in there. Both also contain an enzyme blend which I desperately need during pregnancy (like I said my digestive system needs a lot of help during this time). Intranaturals wins this category as well as they include six different enzymes (at 100mg) while Rainbow Light only has four (at 24mg). I have also noticed that if I take my Rainbow Light and don’t eat right away I get sweaty and nauceous but I have been able to take my Intranaturals without that happening. Not normally a problem but sometimes when helping a toddler in the morning I don’t always eat right when I think I will! The last section would be Rainbow Light’s prenatal blend vs IntraNaturals organic fruit and vegetable powders. Rainbow Light contains a 90mg prenatal blend that includes red raspberry leaf extract, ginger, and organic spirulina. These are all good things during pregnancy and I actually have tried drinking red raspberry tea in the third trimester. Instead of this blend, IntraNaturals has organic beet root, carrot root, spinach leaf, broccoli leaf, collards leaf, blueberry fruit, raspberry, pomegranate, cucumber, ginger root, cabbage leaf, blackberry, cherry, and cranberry fruit powder (totaled up to 300mg). Now neither of these are going to replace eating your fruits and veggies but I like the extra nutritional support! The pills themselves are similar in size with the Rainbow Light pill being slightly larger. I have never had troubles swallowing pills so that doesn’t matter much to me and both have a natural smell. They just smell like vitamins to me but if you are used to taking coated vitamins that don’t have a smell you might want to be aware.Overall both of these are good vitamins though IntraNaturals actually comes out ahead for me! The extra vitamin D with only 100% instead of 167% of the daily iron are big for me! Plus the IntraNaturals doesn’t bother my stomach at all if I get caught up in something and don’t eat immediately afterwards. I also like the variety in their enzyme, probiotic and fruit and veggie blends as it seems a little more well rounded. That said, Rainbow Light definitely comes out ahead price-wise as you get 150 pills for the price of 60 of the IntraNaturals. I would feel confident taking either of these prenatals so they both get five stars from me. I am not a nutritional expert and if you have nutrition questions I suggest asking your nutritionist or doctor but I hope my review was helpful!

Great 1 a day prenatal
EDITED UPDATE: Finished entire bottle and very minimal oxidation (black marks). Only happened with a few pills towards the very end. Just make sure to close the bottle tightly and handle with dry hands! I had absolutely zero issues with the pills from amazon. No different than the ones I’ve bought in store. For people feeling nauseous, you might want to try an iron free vitamin. I find this actually helped keep away nausea because of the ginger. Either way, nausea is a normal side effect of pregnancy. So far, so good. Opening them, the pills looked normal. They are the same quality as I have gotten in store. I’m not sure why people think the ones they are getting are less quality than store ones since they all come from the same manufacturer. I was a bit worried by all the pictures of black pills at first. I had taken these during my last pregnancy and continue to trust the brand. I had at the time contacted them via email and was advised over time the blackish marks is the oxidation of iron, but doesn’t affect the quality/effectiveness of the vitamins. Just make sure you don’t keep them in humidity and in a cool area and don’t take out the humidity absorber in the bottle. My previous bottles have oxidized, but no where near the pictures I am seeing.I do like these are one a day. They are a bit big though to swallow. One of the biggest pills I’ve taken. I do like it is natural and has additional support for digestion and morning sickness. I wish the taste going down was better and glided more, but to be expected I guess. You can definitely taste the iron and after a while of oxidation the iron taste becomes more pronounced. Until there is anything better, I will continue to take these since I trust the company and it is a quality product. It has everything I need in one pill
