Best to use in early stages
We would call this more of a nice to have type of home test versus a must-have test. The main reason is that while it looks like a pregnancy home test (and it works in a somewhat similar way) the results are not as straight forward.Let’s start with what you receive. You get a set of instructions, five individual sealed test “sticks”, and a “scoring” sheet. While the listing implies this is a simple and fast way to determine your menopause stage it is not quite that straight forward. They do explain this in the instructions and hint at it in the listing however.First you need all five tests for one result (not five different tests). You test yourself in the morning every other day so it takes 9 days to complete the “test”. You need to then record the results on the score sheet as well as other information about your menstruation cycle and do some interpretation to determine where you are at (stage) in your menopause journey. They further recommend you take the results to your doctor for further review and recommendation on next steps (and they conveniently throw in there to ask your doctor about what Estroven product is best for you).Thus the accuracy isn’t quite black and white like you may expect like a pregnancy test; and it works better to define your stage when you are earlier in the progress versus after your cycle has ended (whether naturally or via other reasons). So overall this is probably a decent value when you are entering menopause to help you determine your best course of action; but less effective as you near the end of menopause.

follicle stimulating hormone) and its role in menopause. The kit specifically tests FSH over a period of 9 days (alternating a test day and a rest day until all 5 test kits are used.) You record your FSH levels as either Low or High on each test day. Then, you aggregate the 5 test day results and combine that with your menstrual cycle regularity to determine your menopause stage. Research does seem to indicate that it can be helpful to know your FSH results, but that the stage can, in most cases, be determined by symptoms and menstrual cycle status alone. When determining your results according to the instructions (see pics), it also seems that the menstrual cycle stage changes the results much more so than the FSH testing levels. That said, there could potentially be a link to the more mental side of menopause (depression, anxiety, etc) with rising FSH levels, so it could be interesting to see the FSH results if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.My test kit came with an expiration date of December 28, 2027, so there is ample time to use these tests.Overall, I think this can be a helpful test to have more data about menopause, but it’s not totally necessary if you have symptoms or changes in menstrual cycles.

Interesting but not detailed
I was anxious to get this kit. Have been wondering where I am on the menopause spectrum. My final result I believe is “early post menopause”. That result just seems inadequate but thats what I ended up with.Its like taking a pregnancy test. They give you 5 sticks. You pee in a cup and place the end of the stick in the pee for 10-15 seconds and then you wait 5 minutes before reading. I just used a liquid detergent cleaned plastic cup which was perfect. You do this every other day and then record your results. The results are either “high” or “low” . Then they give you a little chart to conclude if you are1. Late reproductive.2. Early peri menopause3. Late peri menopause4. Early post menopause or5. Late post menopauseMy results only varied on 1 day otherwise I would be “late post menopause “.I am a big fan of Estroven products . Ive taken their menopause supplements for about 8 yrs now and they work!Im glad I did this test but I feel like it didnt reveal much.

Perfect for anyone looking to know FSH levels
These menopause tests are easy to use, but do not give the information that I was looking for. They do not indicate what your hormone levels are other than FSH. This can be indicative of whether you are within the range to be in perimenopause, but it only gives one small picture of the whole puzzle. There are 5 sticks, allowing you to check the level over the course of several days, which is nice. The price seems average for this type of test kit. But, be aware they do not recommend this kit if you are no longer having a monthly cycle so this is not for those who are in full menopause or those with hysterectomies. The tests themselves seem effective and easy to understand. If you are looking for your FSH level alone, these will be great for you.
