Soft comfortable and great layering piece
I really like this top because it feels comfortable enough to wear on its own but also works well layered. The fabric feels soft and has that cozy performance feel I like in a base layer. It does a good job giving warmth without feeling bulky and I like that it moves well and does not feel restrictive. The fit has been flattering and comfortable and the quality feels in line with what I expect from the brand. This feels like a really solid wardrobe staple.

Keeps you warm and then keeps you dry.
When it comes from Spyder you know you have a quality product that is worth the price. This mid-weight long sleeve crew neck is no exception. It’s got nice stretch when moving because of the spandex mixed with the cotton and acrylic. It can be form fitting by ordering the proper size or it can be a little looser by ordering up like I did. It is made to be a second skin so tight is best if your going to be in cold weather for a long time.I got the heather gray and I love the color, not to dark to show through thin overshirts but not white which shows underclothes easily. It does have some acrylic mixed with the basic cotton/spandex that gives it a soft feel against the skin. The neck being crew also gives it breathability with nothing binding around your throat when you move. How I tested it is I went out in 20° F (-6° C) weather to shovel the walks, both front and back. I was out for about 45 minutes. I wore a long sleeved shirt over the thermal and then had a warm coat over both of those. I didn’t feel cold on my body, just my face and hands. After about 30 minutes I was done shoveling and spent an additional 15 minutes talking with my neighbor. It was when I went inside that I realized I felt damp under my hat and boots. When I took my jacket off my overshirt was a little damp, but the thermal wasn’t and neither was my body. It literally kept my body from feeling damp. Normally I go out and work and get hot then when I stop working but am still outside I get chilled from being damp. This prevented me from feeling that last chill by keeping me dry. This is why I 100% recommend this thermal.

Lightweight but Surprisingly Warm — Great Everyday Layer
My wife picked this up looking for a comfortable layering piece for colder weather, and it’s turned out to be one of those simple staples she keeps reaching for. She’s 5’2”, followed the sizing chart, and went with an XL, which gave her the kind of fit she was hoping for — comfortable without feeling oversized. The fabric is soft right away and doesn’t have that scratchy “thermal” feel some base layers can have. It’s lightweight, but once she put it on, you could tell it actually holds warmth well. It works nicely under a hoodie or jacket without adding bulk, which is important since thicker layers can feel restrictive pretty quickly. She’s worn it both around the house and out running errands on colder days, and it’s been comfortable for both. The stretch in the material makes a difference — it moves easily and doesn’t feel tight across the shoulders or arms. It also layers smoothly under coats without bunching up, which is something she noticed immediately.Another thing she liked was that it doesn’t make you feel overheated indoors. It keeps warmth in when outside but still breathes well enough once you’re inside a store or car. The moisture-wicking aspect seems to work too — no clammy feeling after being active or walking around for a while. After washing, it held its shape and softness without shrinking or twisting, which is always a concern with cotton blends. It’s easy care, toss it in the wash, and it’s ready to go again.Overall, this is a really solid everyday base layer — comfortable, warm without being heavy, and versatile enough for winter activities or just normal cold-weather wear. Simple piece, but one she’s already wearing regularly, which probably says the most.

Thermal top
The shirt is nice and soft and fits great on the torso, but the arms are pretty slim in comparison to the body. The warmth and style are both functional and great and the quality is that similar to one of our name brand ones. Not sure if sizing up would help with the arm tightness or not, so take that into consideration when purchasing.

Quality-made, value -priced, long-sleeve thermal top.
Overall: Sexy triangle crochet halter string bikini top and cheeky bottom. Looks great and is easy to get in and out of. Fits and looks great and value priced. Seashell accent on the front of the top.Included contents: One Heather Grey Women’ Micro French Terry long sleeve crew neck base layer thermal top by Spyder.Size: Small, fits my 5’0”, 120 lbs, 34B wife perfectly.Construction: Fabric is 53% cotton, 42% Acrylic and 5% Spandex. The thermal top is well made with all edges finished. There are no missed stitches or mis-sewn areas. Overall, quality construction.Function: The thermal top is designed as a base layer for cold weather. The fabric is soft and comfortable against the skin and fits perfectly, both in length and width. The addition of Spandex provides a snug, comfortable fit expected in a base layer. Cotton is naturally wicking but does not dry quickly, so the addition of Acrylic helps in that area. I usually avoid cotton for any cold weather activity as it losses its insulation ability when wet and takes a relatively long time to dry. I think the cotton/Acrylic/Spandex mix provides a good balance of warmth, comfort, moisture wicking, and quick drying.Value: Cost at this review (Mar 2026) is $19.41 and I feel the product is a great value at this price point.
