Non slip mat helps keep my stepper in place on my hardwood floors
I recently purchased a fitness stepper, but needed a mat to use under it on my hardwood floors. So when I saw this Stepwaver Double Non-Slip Workout Mat I was eager to give it a try.The mat is easy to use, and nice quality. It adheres well to my hardwood floor, and stays easily without slipping. The mat does a good job of keeping my stepper stable, as well as decreasing the noise level during usage, as opposed to if I try to use the stepper without the mat underneath.The mat is working nicely for my needs. It does have a slight rubbery odor to it, but not obnoxious. I do wish that it were slightly thicker, as I think that would help provide longer term protection to my floor over continued use. But overall, I’m happy with the quality and functionality of this mat, and find the current $9.99 price to offer a good value for the money, as well.

But rather average resistance to movement. I have a number of active devices consistent with this mat’s size — ellipticals, vibration plates, under desk bike, etc. I’ve tried this mat with each of then, mostly on hardwood floors, but also carpet and tiled marble floors—mostly just so I can legitimately say that I have. Frankly I’m not particularly impressed by any of this family of devices. They all attract dirt, which is then difficult to sweep off. All resist movement on hard surfaced floors, but all have creeped from the place they were installed. They all will bunch up if you try to use your foot to reposition them. The thicker ones dampen vibration slightly, which can be a plus for sound reduction between floors. The thinner ones actually do seem subjectively to increase the coupling between a vibration plate and a hard floor—which I find a good thing. However, after a few years of using these things, I find I’ve only kept them under less than half of the machines. Still, I keep exploring, as I like the concept, just find them to fal short in executing it. I know others report better, but I can’t.I still give this one 4 stars. It arrived shortly after ordering. Out of the box it has little odor, and that trace is not unpleasant. It dissipates in a couple of days. Like most (but not all) it washes easily and dries quickly. Most of all, the cost is low if it meets your needs, but is easy to absorb if it doesn’t.
